'I was naïve. I thought I could become a doctor and cure children who have the same disease as my dead friend, and then be able to tell them and their parents it was free of charge. That was my dream...' - Leorio
Leorio is one of those few manga/anime characters who actually feel like they are real people, in my honest opinion. His personality, his dream, his past, all of his character is what makes him unique. I really wish his creator treated him better...
Anyway, a more or less quick little picture I could finish in spite of my art block: young Leorio, as seen in Hunter X Hunter (2011), episode 4. I really enjoyed this short flashback (even though the 1999 version and 2011 version have different points of view on Leorio's past, both are amazing), it was truly heartwarming and drearily beautiful. I really didn't expect Madhouse to show us Leorio as a child for the first time ever, no doubt everybody on Twitter started tweeting like crazy when he showed up.
Leorio is a pretty awesome character, I can't wait for the upcoming movie so we can see more of him and Kurapika. (And hopefully the manga will start getting online again... T_T)
I'm looking forward to the movie as well. I couldn't help reading some reviews from people who live in Japan and went to see it, but I can't wait even when I already know what happens in it!
Looks like Indonesia is getting it released in theaters on March 28, so maybe we'll get a camrip after that? I hope so!
Its supposed to be out on DVD in June (6 months from january) and should be online by the next two months. I'm super excited too and I'm american as well. ^^
I know. I'm super excited about seeing this movie. I was reading this short summary kinda like the ones on the back of a book and apparently we're supposed to be able to learn more about Kurapika's past! Needless to say I'm super-duper excited!!!! I'm a huge Kurapika fangirl.
One thing I'm hoping to learn is what the hell the Spiders were thinking when they wiped out the Kuratas in the first place. Was it a grudge? Pure greed? Just for kicks? If the movie will shed some light on this mess, then maybe...I dunno. We'll have to wait and see.
Anyway, great artwork, consider it fave'd!

Lucky you get it in March, I'm going to have to wait way longer than that to watch online, the American I am.
